Mr. Vasyl Gorbal has been appointed as an NBU Council Member

On January 11, 2006 the Verkhovna Rada has been elected National Bank of Ukraine Council. Among the Council members is Mr. Vasyl Gorbal, Honorary President of UkrGasBank.

Mr. Vasyl Gorbal was an NBU Council member from 2003 to 2005 and has gained reputation as a financial professional in banking sphere.

Other members of NBU Council are the following: Sergiy Kluyev, Borys Kolesnikov, Mykhailo Goncharov, Igor Prasolov, Petro Poroshenko.

Mr. Vasyl Gorbal said that there wouldn't be any radical changes in NBU Council policy. The main efforts will be concentrated on keeping Ukrainian hryvna stable. It's expected that the first meeting of the NBU Council will be held in February.
